When Arshavin came to Arsenal 2 years ago he was an instant success and all Arsenal fans loved him immediately especially after his display at Anfield where he scored 4 goals, the last player to score 4 goals against Liverpool in Anfield in the Premier League was probably some 60 or 70 years ago.

This season many of the Arsenal fans seem to hate and blame Arshavin for some poor results. He is having a poor season by his standards but he has done very well so far statistically.

Goals
He has scored 4 goals this season in 22 games in the Premier League. He has featured in all Arsenal’s games in the Premier League, except the game against Chelsea. 3 out of the 4 goals were all valuable away goals, Against Blackburn Rover winning 2-1, against Aston Villa winning 4-2 and the 2-2 draw against Wigan. His home goal was against Blackpool when Arsenal won 6-0.

Only the following midfield players scored more goals than him.

Assists
Arshavin so far has contributed 9 assists in the Premier League. Only Nani and Brunt have more assists than Arshavin, both with 10 assists, only 1 more than Arshavin.and this number so far is impressive.

Arsenal as of today are fighting on all fronts and we are doing very well in all competitions except maybe the champions league.

Premier League.

We stand a serious chance and we had a very good game against west ham united. Walcott seems to be on fire and Van Persie is getting stronger every game and convincingly scored 2 goals and 1 assist which proves just how much we missed him last season. Arsenal are in 3rd position and trailing Manchester United by 2 points and having played 1 more game. Next gameweek will be decisive as Manchester united will play their game in hand against Blackpool and fingers crossed we hope they dont get all 6 points from those 2 games. If we continue playing the way we have played the last few premier league games we will for sure get where we want to and become once again the Champions of the English Premier League.

Champions League
How can we forget last season’s The Lionel Messi Show. I cant explain how we will possibly win against Barcelona when we struggled to get through the group stage being in the easiest group in the Champions League. The only way we can win against them is if we can continue playing like we are doing at the moment in the premier league and defending well so we don’t give them any away goals.

FA Cup
Leeds United game showed us many positive things regarding identifying the weakness of the team, other than that it was a total shame for all of us Arsenal Fans. Denilson just proved he is one of the weakest links in our team and needs to be replaced. Also our defence looked shaky at times but yet again we are happy we conceded only 1 goal LOL.

Carling Cup
We are at the semi final of the Carling Cup, a competition which Arsene Wenger has never won ( and the champions league) and it looked like it got Arsenal’s name on it before the match against Ipswich, we lost 1-0 to a manager-less team which plays in a division below us. Again the weaknesses we the same as in the game against Leeds United. Lets hope to get a positive result at the emirates and PLEASE ARSENE WENGER win this damn cup for once in your career, we need something.
